Life in Jakarta is very quickly explained, it is more or less a synonimous for sitting in an airconditioned car and waiting in the traffic. If you dont sit in a car you either wait for someone or something, mostly someone who is going to pick you up.
The for of us work 4 times a day, usally from Monday to Thursday and from 8:00 to 16:00 o'clock. Usually we wake up at 7:00 and start our Journey to work 30 minutes later either by taxi or by motorcycle taxi. So, after you wake up you go and sit in a car, then when you arrive at work (Tom and Sebastian at the Nusantara and Katie and Miriam in the Sasana) you mostly sit again, observing, chatting, surfing in the internet and somtimes treating a patient. The Therapists are very friendly in the Nusantara, even though most of them barely speak any english. After work you go back into the taxi and wait in the traffic to get home, arrived at home you have the swimming pool, the flatscreen TV and the view out of the 39th floor to waste some time. Most of the time we spend in the living room, chatting about our experiences or playing cards. If we need food, we go to one of the big malls, they huge, loud, crowded and exhausting. It takes up to 3 hour to get food.
The people are more then friendly and the food is very delicious, even though allmost everyone of us felt sick of it allready.
One of the unique things are, that each of everyone has amazing dreams in the night and some of us dream even twice a night. The dream are mostly very strange and make no sense at all.
On the weekends so far, we got invited to two weddings who felt more like a food party, the whole ceremony consists of eating all kind of delicous food.
So long
