We are getting there

Its coming closer and closer. We finally received an invitation letter from the sites, which is vital for a VISA. So we decided to go to the Indonesian Embassy on wednedsay and applay for a student VISA. In the meantime Johanna and Tom went to a real Indonesian restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. It is so damn delicous, I am sure we will come back as fat as possible from our trip. When all Indonesians are so friendly as the waiters, we will have a great time.

Additionally Johanna, Mareike and Tom have received some Vaccinations. I think the Dr. was very excited when Johanna told her that she has never been vaccinated before. Mareike got Vaccinated against Hep A and B, as well as Johanna. Additionally Johanna got a DTP vaccination and Tom Hep A and stomach typhus.´
Sebas has found some presents for the site, he got some books from the library.
Miriam allready went to Hamburg over the weekend to say good bye to her parents who wont be in Hamburg when we departure.

first meeting

Hey everybody,

we had our first official meeting on Monday the 7th, were we discussed our plan for the future. We looked for flights and Katie found a flight were we all would meet in Dubai, regardless from where we start our journey. Obviously, we ate traditional indonesian food (or at least what we thought would be)
Unfortunatelly we found out on the next day that booking a cheap flight isnt as easy and people started to panic, because nobody wanted to pay too much.
After a lot of discussions and back and forth.......WE BOOKED OUR FLIGHTS!
The first ones to book were Johanna, Miriam and Tom who will reach Jakarta on the 26th of June and will start their Journey from Hamburg.
Second booky was Katie who will arrive allready on the 25th from Duesseldorf.
Sebas and Maraike booked days later and will start the trip from Frankfurt and meet with Katie in Dubai.

So their is no turning back anymore!

In the meanwhile we received a first contact E-Mail from the Nusantara stroke center.
Our contact person is Nika and she is very interrested in a lot of references about stroke management.
And we had a meeting with CIA! Which of cause was very helpfull!
The first one allready received some vaccinations! Sebasa has been vaccinated agains hep A and B, as well stomache typhus.

Here some facts about Indonesia and Jakarta:
- is a nation of 17.500 Islands
- population of 222,781,000 (4th largest of the world)
- capital is Jakarta
-Jakarta is located on the northwest coast of the island of Java, it has an area of 661.52 km² and a population of 8,792,000
-Jakarta has been developed for more than 490 years and currently is the eleventh largest city and metropolitan area and ninth most densely populated city in the world with 44,283 people per sq mile.
-Jakarta's roads are notorious for the behaviour of the traffic; the rules of the road are broken with impunity and police bribery is commonplace. The painted lines on the road are regarded as mere suggestions as vehicles often travel four or five abreast on a typical two-lane road and it's not uncommon to encounter a vehicle travelling the wrong direction in a given traffic flow.

The beginning
